A global technology consulting firm in Canada required a quarterly performance appraisal system that operated within their existing SharePoint intranet while addressing three core challenges:

Xavor’s custom app development team designed and built a fully custom performance appraisal application within SharePoint. The solution was tailored to enforce hierarchy, ensure privacy, and automate reminders.

Intuitive quarterly UI: A four-quadrant interface represented each quarter. Color-coded statuses (orange = pending, green = submitted, red = overdue) gave users instant visibility into their appraisal state.

Hierarchical workflow & privacy controls:

The system automated notifications according to role-based hierarchy. Team leads were alerted only after their subordinates submitted forms; managers were notified once team leads completed reviews. Subordinate responses were hidden from team leads and visible only to managers. 

Manager dashboard & decision tracking:

Managers accessed a side-by-side comparison view of team lead and subordinate responses. After Q4, exclusive fields unlocked for entering increment, bonus, and promotion decisions, storing them securely alongside the appraisal. 

Automated compliance & flexibility:

Automated email reminders ensured on-time submissions. Managers and team leads could also customize appraisal questionnaires based on role or project needs.
