Our client, a Fortune 500 MedTech leader, faced the complex challenge of cross-border standardization of its manufacturing and supply chain data reporting across a sprawling international footprint.
We engineered a centralized, high-precision architecture through BI & Reporting solutions that unified disparate data streams into a single source of truth. This solution provided real-time visibility into mission-critical metrics—specifically People, Service, Quality, and Finance—ensuring global usability and alignment.
Business Challenge
The engagement addressed three specific needs:
- Global Deployment: The requirement to build standardized dashboards that can be used across multiple countries, ensuring uniformity in data presentation regardless of the region.
- Process and Cost Integration: The need to simultaneously track manufacturing processes and associated costs within a single reporting framework.
- Specific Domain Reporting: The necessity for specialized reporting dedicated to Finance and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), with different levels of granularity according to a person’s position in the chain of command, starting from a frontline worker on the floor going up to personnel responsible for managing multiple manufacturing plants.

The engineering team implemented a standardized reporting architecture centered on two workstreams:
1. Cross-Country Standardized Dashboards
Cross-Country Standardized Dashboards The team developed a suite of standardized Power BI dashboards for use in various international regions.
Process Tracking
Built modules specifically to track manufacturing processes, ensuring consistent KPIs are used across every country.
Cost Integration
Integrated the tracking of associated costs for metrics like open work orders into the dashboards, for a more comprehensive view
2. High-Precision Reporting
Recognizing the need for detailed reporting, the team utilized Microsoft Power BI and Power BI Report Builder.
Specialized Reporting
Developed customized reports for various users depending upon their needs by leveraging numerous Power BI features such as tooltips, bookmarks, drill-downs, drillthroughs, and more. Users had the option to view the summarized data at a glance to make quick data-driver decisions, while also having the ability to drill down into specific data points for further investigation and analysis.
Backend Development
Utilized SQL to transform and shape data from different country sources into a unified, standardized model. This involved building complex queries in the Power BI service by pulling data from the sources directly, along with molding and transforming it according to our needs on Snowflake as well.
