Overview
A leading healthcare organization wanted to create a secure digital community where healthcare professionals could collaborate and access educational resources regardless of their location. But their existing communication methods relied on disconnected tools such as email and shared documents, which made it difficult for members to engage with each other.
To address these challenges, Xavor designed and developed a unified web and mobile solution that enabled secure collaboration, centralized content management, real-time communication, and enterprise-grade security. The solution provided healthcare professionals with a single destination for discussions, learning, and professional engagement while giving administrators complete control over content and community management.
Business Challenge
Healthcare professionals rely heavily on timely access to knowledge and peer collaboration. However, the client lacked a centralized platform that could support secure communication and ongoing engagement across a geographically distributed professional community.
Several business challenges emerged as the community continued to grow.
1. Fragmented Communication
Discussions and knowledge sharing occurring across multiple channels made it very difficult for professionals to collaborate effectively or locate relevant information.
2. Limited Access to Educational Resources
Important documents along with learning materials were dispersed across different systems, which created an inconsistent user experience and made resource discovery difficult.
3. Manual Content Management
Publishing new resources and educational content required significant administrative effort and often depended on development teams, slowing content delivery.
4. Security and Compliance Requirements
The platform needed to ensure that only authorized healthcare professionals could access community discussions and resources while complying with enterprise security and privacy requirements.
5. Need for Multi-Platform Accessibility
Users expected a seamless experience across both desktop and mobile devices so they could participate in discussions, receive updates, and access resources wherever they were.
the solution
Xavor developed a secure, enterprise-grade community platform consisting of a responsive web application and a cross-platform mobile application to provide a unified collaboration environment.
Secure User Authentication:
Enterprise authentication was implemented using Auth0 and Microsoft Azure Active Directory, allowing users to securely access the platform while supporting corporate identities, role-based permissions, and protected APIs.
Centralized Resource Library:
A searchable repository was created to organize educational materials, clinical resources, and reference documents. Administrators could publish and manage content directly through Umbraco CMS without requiring developer involvement.
Mobile Experience:
A dedicated mobile application built with React Native (Expo) provided healthcare professionals with secure access to discussions, resources, notifications, and user profiles from both iOS and Android devices.
Professional Collaboration Platform:
A comprehensive discussion environment enabled users to create conversations, participate in discussions, upload files, comment on posts, bookmark useful content, and track their own activity, encouraging continuous peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.
Automated Communication Framework:
Real-time notifications, mobile push notifications, automated emails, newsletters, and discussion alerts kept users informed and engaged while reducing manual communication efforts.
Privacy, Compliance, and Platform Governance:
Security controls including JWT authentication, OneTrust cookie consent management, role-based access control, and secure API authorization ensured the platform met enterprise privacy and compliance requirements.
