What a great week we had at #OVCS! Hosted at the San Jose Convention Center this year, Xavor demonstrated a plethora of new Agile PLM solutions at our booth (#109). We definitely had a great presence at the show with our Xavor value chain team members in full force: Hassan Ramay, Xavor’s Managing Partner, Tom Nelson, Principal-Product & Program Management, Arif Ansari, Managing Consultant, Hassan Sheikh, Managing Consultant, Sandra Campbell, Sr. Consultant, Lesley de Lugo, Director of Strategic Engagements, Jeff Sanders, Senior Account Executive and myself.
The presence at the Summit was fantastic with over 1,000 in attendance. There were over 30 informative Product Value Chain sessions given by customers and partners. A favorite was Wednesday’s General Session which featured some really interesting insights on empowering the modern value chain from Kevin Uhls, Director, Supply Chain IT & ERP, GE Appliances and Jim Lebs, VP, Supply Chain, Sonic Drive-In.
A new touch that we really liked this year was the hands-on iPad demo area which gave attendees the chance to go through PLM demos at their own pace. We had a lot of booth traffic with customers and prospects and we were able to engage with other partners as well. We would like to thank the following customers who stopped by to visit us and say hi: Carlos Hernandez/MagTek, Frances Blackburn, Lloyd Nugent, Alakshendra Khare, Kim Troung/JDSU, Arif Khalil/Skyworks and Vivek Sharma/IDT. It’s always a pleasure talking with you!
This year Xavor featured our Assist+ product which is our mouse-over hover (help) text for Agile objects which include parts, documents and all types of changes for content messages. In addition, we featured our Electronic Training Record (ETR) solution which is a configuration, a set of automations and reports which allow for tracking training records and plans for all employees in the organization. Another solution we promoted was our Product Development Process (PDP) solution which is a set of automations and reports which provide the means to create a product BOM and corresponding project plan from a set of predefined templates.
The second day of the show featured our very own Tom Nelson in an afternoon session, “Accelerating New Product Introduction Through Process Automation.” Prefaced by opening remarks from Bob Schwartz, the session discussed some of the typical tools used for automation and how they can make some of the most complex processes faster and more efficient. The turnout for the session included more than 60 attendees! There were plenty of follow-up questions at the Xavor booth after the presentation and we received numerous positive comments regarding our process extensions library.
Aside from the events at the Summit, we were eager to get more time with the attendees in which case we hosted a networking dinner at Il Fornaio. Oracle reps and Summit attendees were able to share observations about the day’s events. Always a highlight, this year’s dinner filled up quickly with 30+ in a private room!
Our experience this year at #OVCS was definitely a successful one. What are some of your highlights from this year’s show? We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
