Have you ever been to the Crossings Golf course in Carlsbad? Although most people go to golf, we had the pleasure of hosting our last Agile PLM Meetup here! Immediately we were drawn in by the open meeting space with beautiful windows and high celling overlooking the golf course, and if you look close enough you can even see views of the Pacific Ocean! Plus, who doesn’t enjoy being near the green?
If you aren’t familiar with our Meetups, these are designed as an outlet for Agile PLM users to strengthen their knowledge of PLM and get real time answers in a casual environment. Originally started in Orange County, we have now expanded to host these events in Northern California and San Diego area as well.
The topic presented in Carlsbad was “Agile: Outside the Box” by Tom Nelson, Xavor’s PLM Principal of Product and Program Management. He pushed our attendees to think beyond what Agile can do. The beauty of these Meetups is the Agile users have the opportunity to share current experiences, relate to others’ similar challenges, network, and come together as a group to help reach solutions. Plus we like to keep it fun by ending with happy hour!
As a recap, attendees took away these key points:
- A BOM doesn’t have to be limited to a product/part.
- Setting a visible relationship between items makes it easy for users to find all the information they need in one place.
- Think about how the “Enterprise” will use the Items. Include data to help everyone.
