Xavor's PLM Services
Xavor's PLM group is uniquely suited to provide organizations with a variety of PLM services to complement existing PLM efforts. In particular, we can assist organizations in the following areas:
- Assessment - Through Xavor's unique "PLM Audit" process, we provide an objective, 3rd party, view on an organization's current situation and recommend steps for future action based on return for the organization.
- Migration - Xavor specializes in migrating data from legacy systems to the PLM environment. Migration efforts can be incredibly time consuming, and as a PLM platform matures in an organization, they become increasingly critical. Xavor has developed a unique data migration process that saves time and money, and assures a quality migration.
- Implementation - Whether implementing a PLM system for the first time or moving from one to another, Xavor can guide organizations through the critical process on the path to a solid "core" configuration management foundation upon which a successful PLM system can be built.
- Customization - Leveraging our U.S.-based and off-shore customization teams, Xavor provides the ideal blend of high-touch expert quality and low-cost efficiency to meet the most demanding technical demands with a timely, quality solution.
- Maintenance & Support - Organizations focused on developing innovative products often do not have the time, energy, or expertise to maintain and support their PLM infrastructure. Xavor provides a variety of services to lower an organization's overall cost of support and maintenance.

PLM Assessment
Organizations have increasingly implemented PLM systems over the past decade, to where PLM systems are virtually ubiquitous. However, as common as the systems are, many organizations have still not taken advantage of the full capabilities of a PLM environment.
For example, it is critical for product organizations to build their PLM systems on effective "core" configuration management practices, which involve keeping track of product structures, related requirements, and controlling and tracking changes over the lifecycle. However, many organizations are missing key components of this core, or these components are present but not integrated in the PLM environment. Beyond simply vaulting documents, it is critical that organization complete the next step, which is to firmly establish "core" configuration management processes and functionality as a launching pad for advanced PLM benefits.
Advanced PLM capabilities are varied in their applicability across different industries. Some industries have stronger compliance needs, others can benefit from supplier integration in the design process, "closing the loop" on quality with customers, or integrated platform management capabilities. Oftentimes it makes sense to step back and get an outside perspective on where an organization can gain the best value for continued efforts.
Xavor's offers PLM Audit services to objectively assess the progress of the PLM implementation to date, record successes and challenges, identify key "leverage points" where organizations can get the most return, and layout a custom plan for future improvement. Xavors trained and certified development group can help implement the resulting plan, or an organization can use the plan to develop internally or with another organization. Companies can use PLM Audits as a formal external review, as an informal sanity check, or in a custom manner particularly for the needs of a given organization.
