Xavor helped a major medical device company overcome their PLM legacy data and file attachments migration challenges and performed the migration project meeting the go live date with an extremely happy customer. A major medical device company chose to move their product and parts management systems to an integrated Oracle Agile PLM solution for their cochlear implant device business. There existed a tremendous challenge in mapping gigabytes of data related to all their product parts, sub-parts, assemblies, along with all revisions and change management information. Multiple types of engineering CAD drawings and technical documents related to specific part versions scattered in legacy directories created a mapping challenge. Xavor assisted in developing an ETL methodology and data mapping scheme specific to their part versioning needs and an intelligent file finder algorithm to associate file attachment to parts from legacy data sources that existed in four different systems with separate heterogeneous data sources.
